King’s Players Appeal for Assistance Promoting Community Preview
Dec 23, 2011
Update (January 9): Members of the general public who are unable to make the evening showings are welcome to attend Wednesday, January 11 at 12:00 pm community preview at the regular $15 rate. These tickets will be available at the door.
The King’s University College Players Theatre Company at the University of Western Ontario is reissuing its offer to community groups to participate in a preview showing of its January musical comedy, “The Boy Friend”. They are also appealing for help in spreading information about the special showing. The preview showing makes heavily discounted tickets available to seniors and community groups.
“The community program is one that is very special to us,” explained assistant director John Houghton. “It allows us to make the show available to sections of our community on fixed budgets such as seniors and other service organizations.”
The King’s Players make their preview performances available to seniors and community groups for the rate of $5, which covers only the theatre rental and rights for the show.
“Offering this show, especially to seniors and community groups who may not often have the opportunity to get to see a show was something our team really wanted to do this year,” explained Houghton. “We hope members of the community will take steps to help us fill these shows and create a memorable and meaningful experience”.
The performance date for the preview is Wednesday, January 11 at 12:00 pm. Following the show, groups will be welcome to remain in the theatre for the opportunity to meet and interact with the actors and crew.
For information on organizing a community group to attend this special showing, contact John Houghton at (519) 614-7010 or e-mail kingsplayers@kucsc.com. Tickets to these special showings are only available to community groups and are not available to the general public.
Showings to the general public run January 12, 13, 14 at 7:00 pm each night for $15 per person. Seating is available by contacting the King's Players Box Office at (519) 614-7010.
